Payments overview

• Verified email required before bid, offer, or pay
• Phone + shipping address required before payment; US ZIP checked against postal data
• SMS phone verify — pays ≥ $200, first card ≥ $100, or high-value ID path
• High-value ID attestation — legal name + ID type + last 4 for orders ≥ $750 (and some elevated-risk lower amounts)
• Card — billing ZIP match, AVS, velocity limits; high-risk card pays go on security hold until the seller releases
• Local pickup — buyer ZIP within seller-configured miles of store ZIP (default 75)
• Device fingerprint — flags devices linked to multiple buyer accounts
• Seller Payments tab — risk notes, holds, release control

Hard rules (any one can hold)

• Transaction risk score ≥ 50
• First card payment on the account ≥ $100
• Billing ZIP ≠ shipping ZIP
• Account < 24h old and amount ≥ $150
• Phone not SMS-verified and amount ≥ $200
• Amount ≥ $1,000 within the first 3 card payments
• Device linked to multiple buyer accounts
• Buyer historical risk score ≥ 50

Sellers release holds from their CDX payments tools. Do not ship until released/paid.

1. Open the win email, notification bell, Wins, or Payments
2. Complete phone + shipping address in Settings if prompted
3. Click Pay seller
4. Complete card checkout (billing ZIP) or offline transfer and report confirmation (from that seller’s methods)

If you owe one dealer for several lots, use Pay all to this dealer on Payments.
